In a very clear and didactic manner the experts walked through the steps of auditing identifying challenges and opportunities of the remote auditing modality. The authors point out that the COVID-19 pandemic-imposed travel constraints and work from home policies pushed businesses to review many of their routine practices. The pharma sector responded with agility to the challenge and in a very short time remote audits developed into the new standard.
The authors concluded that remote auditing has achieved the objectives of the inspection on par with audits conducted in-person at the facility, and that with the right tools the remote modality can be viable for auditing on a global scale.
